After the Beatles split up, John Lennon played very few live concerts. On 30 August 1972, however, he gave two legendary concerts in a single day at a sold-out Madison Square Garden, raising over $1.5 million for children with disabilities. Featuring Yoko Ono, the Plastic Ono Band and Elephant’s Memory, as well as many special guests such as Stevie Wonder, Sha-Na-Na and Melanie.
Originally filmed in 1972 by multi-camera director Steve Gebhardt, this new version of the concert film was directed by Simon Hilton, with music production by Sean Ono Lennon.
