Director Thomas Riedelsheimer embarks on a fascinating journey to explore the phenomenon of light. He brings together two seemingly disparate worlds – art and physics – and allows them to enter into an exciting dialogue. His film follows leading scientists and internationally renowned artists including Ruth Jarman, Joe Gerhardt, Julie Brook, Johannes Brunner and Raimund Ritz – from the Outer Hebrides in Scotland to the Advanced Research Centre at the University of Glasgow and the Max Planck Institute in Erlangen.
Between super slow motion, laser table football, »firestacks« and quantum theory, they ask fundamental questions: What is light as a material? How do photons behave? And how does light shape our perception of the world?
