Mrs Patricia Osborne is a rather strange lady: she claims that cobwebs are excellent medicinal herbs and firmly believes that a circle drawn around her bed with a knife will protect her from nocturnal calamities. When she invites a sinister man named Asmodi to secret meetings, her niece Allie has had enough. To get to the bottom of her aunt's secrets, Allie calls »The Three Investigators« for help. Together with the detectives Justus, Bob and Peter, they sneak into Mrs. Osborne's house and observe gruesome things. A huge snake suddenly appears to be writhing between hooded figures in the flickering candles. Will the three investigators unravel the mystery?
