»All the Beauty and the Bloodshed« is an emotional documentary about Nan Goldin, an internationally renowned photographer who revolutionised the art of photography. With her exceptional flair for capturing the right moment and her political view through the camera, Nan Goldin constantly challenges the definitions of gender and normality. As an activist, she fights against the Sackler pharmaceutical dynasty, which is responsible for the opioid crisis. But the billionaire family is also one of the world’s greatest patrons of the arts, on whom artists such as Goldin herself depend. With courageous actions, Nan Goldin is forcing major museums such as the Louvre, the Tate, the Guggenheim and the Met to reconsider their position and distance themselves from the Sacklers.
