Window into space
The greatest insights from more than 400 years of observing the heavens
We have been looking at the sky with telescopes for over four centuries. For a long time this was only done from the surface of our planet. We have now also stationed various telescopes out in space, which open up many more »windows into space« for us. One of the most important instruments is the Hubble Space Telescope. For over three decades, this telescope has fascinated humanity with great insights and fantastic images. Its successor is the James Webb Space Telescope. Arriving at its destination at the beginning of 2022, we expect an even deeper look into the universe. We not only tell the story of these telescopes, but also show what scientific information we can glean from the colourful images of planets, stars and galaxies.
