Stiftung Planetarium Berlin

Stiftung Planetarium Berlin was established on 1 July 2016 as a foundation under public law with legal capacity and unites astronomical institutions for the first time in Berlin's history. The Archenhold-Sternwarte (Archenhold Observatory) and the Wilhelm-Foerster-Sternwarte (Wilhelm Foerster Observatory) are among the most traditional popular observatories in Germany, while the Planetarium am Insulaner and the Zeiss-Großplanetarium, Europe's most modern science theatres, offer relevant and innovative forms of education.

The foundation’s institutions are state-of-the-art modern bridges to the cosmos. Internationally renowned for their technology and content, the facilities form an essential part of Berlin’s educational and cultural offerings. Its unity allows it to not only explore astronomy, but also expand into other sciences. The decisive factor here is the reorientation and professionalization of the joint program schedule and the range of programs.
