With the live concert series »Live Radiant«, the Zeiss-Groβplanetarium, in cooperation with selected artists, exclusively presents the radiant in the night sky, from which an audiovisual show produced especially for this evening springs. The world premiere, performed in the unique setting of the planetarium hall, is a 360° concert experience with stunning fulldome projections in 3D sound.

On 28 May 2024, Sophia Kennedy will be a guest under the twinkling stars of the planetarium sky and be will celebrating the beauty of supposed mistakes and shaky instrumentalisations in her songs. She combines the glamour and morbid charm of Tin Pan Alley show tunes from the 1960s or 70s, and yet is absolutely committed to club music.

Following her debut album of 2017, which became an overnight sensation and was described by The Cut as »the most exciting pop album of the year you've probably never heard of«, she released her second album, »Monsters«, in 2021. It is full of twists and turns and moments of beauty interspersed with paranoia. The songs can change the atmosphere in a split second, between menacing, gloomy trap beats and soothing crooner melodies. For Kennedy, however, what makes the album special is allowing the songs more vibrancy and coincidences, both in the music and in the textures – and leaving supposed mistakes as they are.

Sophia Kennedy presents pop music in the most colourful facets of our universe: Americana songs with a creeping sub-bass or droning metal guitar over jazz piano songs – there are also trendy centrepieces and the velvet-lined anthem dealing with grief and death, recalling the roughest corners and edges of Krautrock.
