Im zweiten Teil unserer Serie über das Sonnensystem geht es um Planeten, die eher fremdartig auf uns wirken – die Gasplaneten oder »Gasriesen«. Gemeint sind damit die Planeten Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus und Neptun. Dabei ist der Oberbegriff Gasplanet sehr allgemein, denn die vier unterscheiden sich erheblich voneinander. Gemeinsam ist allen vier Planeten allerdings, dass sie keine feste Oberfläche besitzen und insgesamt größer sind als die Gesteinsplaneten.
