Mein gestohlenes Land
Mein gestohlenes Land
Director Marc Wiese takes us to Latin America - to Ecuador - and shows us a country with immense reserves of natural resources, untouched nature and a corrupt leadership. An ideal partner for China, which covets Ecuador's natural resources. China has no problem dealing with authoritarian regimes, but not everyone in Ecuador wants to accept that. Resistance fighter Paul Jarrin leads the indigenous protest against the exploitation of his land. They wage an armed struggle against Chinese uranium mining companies, which use mercenaries to kill Paul and his friends. When journalist Fernando Villavicencio gains access to thousands of secret contracts between China and Ecuador and uncovers these conspiracies, the government wants to silence him, too. The film follows both men as they win crucial battles against a superpower, but the war goes on...
