Experience the cosmos in a completely new way! With the innovative permanent exhibition, »The universe at your fingertips«, Stiftung Planetarium Berlin is setting new standards. As a new kind of interactive science centre, we make astronomy tangible for everyone - in the truest sense of the word.
Boundless amazement – for all your senses
Astronomy is more than just seeing. Our new exhibition also includes feeling. Exhibits and installations invite visitors to experience the cosmos up close through touch and interaction. We have created an environment in which complex scientific relationships can be explored in a playful way.
Admission to the foyer, and thus to the exhibits in the exhibition, is free of charge!
Museum of celestial science in the Archenhold-Sternwarte
Astronomy is observing and measuring – that is the central theme of the permanent exhibition on celestial science in the historic building of the Archenhold-Sternwarte in Berlin-Treptow. Since 1909, what is still largest public observatory has been presenting exhibitions on astronomy, one of the oldest sciences of man.
From the beginnings of the first celestial observations to modern space astronomy, the exhibition traces the development of observatories, including their buildings, instruments and observing techniques – from Stonehenge to radio astronomy and space telescopes.
Opening hours
The Museum of Celestial Science is open during the Archenhold Observatory's event times and, during the Berlin school holidays, additionally from Monday to Thursday 10 am to 2 pm and on Friday from 5 afternoon to 10 pm.
Admission to the museum is free of charge.
The museum is wheelchair-accessible.
